The Summer Festival
Being a Hunter,
I tend to stay out of towns for long periods of time, so every time I make my way back into Thorin’s Hall
I forget just how magnificent the stonework is here. Walking towards the tavern, as that is where all great dwarf
celebrations are I come across a poor fellow by the name of Ambi who seems
to have misplaced some packages for his father. He asks me “Can you help me, please? I would be very thankful! Here is a
list of the items to help you. Unfortunately, after all my celebrating, I can't remember where I left them.” Well how can
I say no as he says he will show me a new recipe for growing pipe-weed. I always find myself running out of different
flavors of pipe-weed while out hunting. Grabbing the list, a fresh pint of Fern Beer and I am off to find the missing items.
The good thing is that they are all in Thorin’s Hall. Nothing like a old fashion scavenger hunt. Twenty minutes later, I am
back with a new recipe in hand, a somewhat fresh bag of Stonecrop Leaf
pipe-weed and just in time for dancing dwarf style. Talking with Gamli,
he instructs me on the steps I need to take for the dancing. Step one, step two, step three, and step one, and so on until
I have mastered the dance of the dwarves.
Realizing the time, I purchased the dwarf fireworks from Huni and ran out the door. Hopping on my horse I made my way down to Duillond and the festivities of the elves. Arriving at the festival area I met an elf named Lalfor who also seems to have lost items. Of course as long as I am offered pipe-weed and recipes, I won’t refuse. Come to think of it these items aren’t all that hard to find. It is almost as if they were hidden on purpose. Well Nedhrien was offering lessons in the dance of elves so I decided to learn that before I went on Lalfor’s scavenger hunt. As I was making my way through the dance steps, it was almost as if I was starting to get the hang of this dancing stuff. Not bad for an old Hunter. I finished my dance, grabbed a fresh glass of sweet Cherry-blossom wine and wandered around the city of Duillond finding Lalfor’s items. Ten minutes later I was back, items in hand. Lalfor thanked me for my assistance, while showing me the recipe for growing Stonecrop Leaf. He also gave me a sample of Lengalenas. I quickly remembered to purchase the elf fireworks, jumped back on my horse and started towards the shire, pipe in hand smoking the sample of Lengalenas.

Ahh, the Shire, land of the little people. Hobbits are funny people. They really do just enjoy having a good time. Well only one place in the Shire can handle a party of this size and that is at the Party Tree. So I rode on over to the Party Tree and sure enough, Hobbits everywhere. I ran into Foxglove Tunnelly first who seemed to be missing items herself. Something strange going on here for sure and I am not one to complain as it meant another recipe of pipe-weed for me. But first, I had something very important to do and that was become a member of the Inn League. I chatted with representative of the Inn League and all I had to do was drink six beers before the timer was up. Huzzah!! My kind of initiation process for sure. I hit the timer and chugged six beers like they were water. The Inn League member said well done and head up to the next tavern. What?? This might be a bit more than I bargained for. Well I decide I best hold off doing a tavern crawl for now. So I went and found Foxglove’s not so really missing, missing items.
