Roast of Heroes
Arriving at the outpost early afternoon, I started looking for my friends. I was sure they would be resting after a long night of attacks on the Orc camps. Sure enough Delioness and Endrin were sitting around their tents relaxing, while Paladia was over at the workbench crafting away. Quantrell came riding into the camp, hopped off his horse and started barking orders for a few men to get out and hunt down a group of wargs that were scouting out the area. Walking over, he shook my hand and asked how life was? I told him that I had a chance to improve my cooking skills and that if he and his fellows would help, I would be more than glad to make Hobbiton Omelets for them on my next trip out this way. Apparently by the look on their faces and well the look of the plates around the tents, this was a welcome idea. So after we yelled for Paladia to put up her tools, I explained to them the story of how I needed to hunt a Giant Boar in Trollshaws that lived in a valley near Rivendell. All four of them immediately jumped up and said "I am up to the challenge of hunting in the Trollshaws!".
Twenty minutes later we were saddled up and heading east across the Last Bridge into the Trollshaws. By nightfall we had made the Ford of Bruinen and decided we should probably take a rest. It was a long afternoon as we encountered a few wandering stone-hurlers along path. Man can those boulders hurt if you aren’t careful. Nothing a quick salve couldn’t fix, but made it so we were a bit behind traveling wise and were tired. Setting up camp along the Ford we hand a peaceful night. Of course for breakfast the entire fellowship requested my famous Eggs and Onions with a side of Delicious Crispy Bacon.
Full bellies, we started up the path towards Rivendell into the High Moor. As we got closer to The Gates of Imladris, we were attacked by a group of Great Stonehoof boars. While these guys were big, they didn’t exactly seem to be big enough, but it seemed that we were close. I decided to put my Hunter skills to use and see if I could track down any other beats. Well let me tell you, the area was full of boars, lynxes, and other creatures, but no giant boars. Delioness, however, noticed a path leading south. This could be the valley we were looking for. So off we went down the valley, somewhat cautious as none of us knew what was down there.

Walking over a small ridge we were able to see the area better including a drake lying in front of our path down. This was not going to be easy we thought. Quantrell suggested a tactic of sacrificing his herald, thus giving us enough time to slide around the drake along the mountain edge. Sounding like a solid plan, he sent the herald into battle and we quickly ran past the drake keeping close to the mountain. It worked, now the only problem was that we had no clue were this elusive boar could be hiding. We saw giant drakes and worms, and off in the distance we noticed a band of Giants. Oh this was not going to be easy. I decided to again check the tracks for signs of a giant boar. To my surprise I found a set belonging to a Giant Grey Stonehoof. It was only rumored that they existed, but the tracks didn’t lie. Down in the clearing I could see the beast. Man was he big!
