Roast of Heroes
As Hunter, I often found the need to cook my own food. What can I say, I love cooking by campfire!
I mean really starting off the day with Eggs and Onion with a side
of Delicious Crispy Bacon just hits the spot. I made a stop in
Michel Delving, as that was one of the best places to get fresh uncooked bacon, spices, and other ingredients I was
running low on and I hate leaving town without stocking up on the groceries. Jewel Underhill
suggested that I talk to Pasco Grubb saying "If he will agree to share with you his secrets, you may become an even
greater cook than you are now, as difficult as that may be to imagine!" Shocked and surprised that Jewel had
noticed my skill as a cook, I told her that I would walk over to Pasco Grubb
and see what he thought of my skill and if he could teach me more.
I was even more shocked when Pasco said he was expecting me and wanted to test
my skill as a cook. If I pass the test, he said he would teach me further. This
sounded like a great idea, as I had heard he knew how to make a Hobbiton Omelet. If
you ever have the chance, make sure you eat one of these. They are just awesome! I mean really eggs, bacon,
onions, and top it all off with cheese. You can’t go wrong! Eating just one will make you feel stronger for quite a
while, back to story. Pasco hands me a set of scribbled notes that looked a lot like a recipe for a dish
called the Roast of Heroes. While
reading the recipe, I was like this
is going to be easy. All I need is a Giant Boar-flank and some Savory Seasonings, Jewel should have both of these
and I can borrow her oven to cook in. Well she sold me the Savory Seasonings, but I was out of luck on the Giant
Boar-flank. It helps if I had read all of the notes, Pasco makes a comment that I need to head up to the Trollshaws,
near Rivendell to find a boar Giant enough to drop a Boar-flank large enough.
Well this just went from quick and easy to heading out and earning my keep. I started thinking, on how I can handle this. Trollshaws is a pretty tough area; I may not want to go alone. So I realized that I had a few friends over in Ost Guruth, helping them keep the Orc population down to a minimum, that would be willing to make a quick run with me to Rivendell and find this Giant Boar. So I saddled up and started heading towards Bree, and then on into the Lone Lands where I stopped by the Forsaken Inn to catch a rest before continuing my journey on over to Ost Guruth. It was a good thing I stopped for the night as I totally forgot that I had a message to deliver to Candac Brightwood. Bright and early the next morning, it was off to Ost Guruth I went.
